This piece was created after watercolor studies of the crossing arm against a sunset sky. I decided instead that the lonely vastness of the American west would be better invoked by the rails gleaming under a full moon. "Lonesome Whistle" was entered into the Wimberley Valley Art League show of Feb.- Apr. '08, juried by Berman Galleries of Austin, Tx. and won "Best Of Show".
